Everything was going well and happening as planned. But the COVID-19 pandemic suddenly put a halt on your schedule and normal activities – travel, business, and professional development. You were worried at the start and even complained about being locked down in your homes. Little by little, however, you managed to adjust in the new normal.

The “new normal” has become the most practical explanation to everything you do. You wear masks, you maintain physical and social distancing, you become excessively conscious of your hygiene. This is how things are supposed to be done, now. Afterall, this is the new normal, which requires you to adopt a new lifestyle, so to speak.

What new adjustments in lifestyle have you developed, recently? Some of them may include the following:
  1. Back to basics. You reverted back to simple living, with only the essentials, and spend most of your time with your families and loved ones. You learned to put each aspect of your life in the right perspective.
  2. Develop new habits. You learned the value of self-help and self-development. You sleep and wake-up early. You read books or listen to podcasts that interest you. You became plantito and plantita. The new habits formed made you a better person.
  3. Practice minimalism. You started to declutter your house with those that aren’t important. Clothes that you don’t need, or appliances and chinaware that eat up your space. Such a magic seeing beauty in symmetry and simplicity.
  4. Learn to budget. You overcame impulsivity and managed your finances well; listed down those essentials and cut-down expenses on non-essentials. You learned to stretch your budget as much as you can.
  5. Start side hustle. You spent your excess time doing side hustle, such as baking, online selling, content writing, or anything that allows you to practice your skills and earn extra income.

It’s all about developing the right perspective in looking at things, how they unfold, and how you adjust. Despite the uncertainties and ambiguities brought about by this pandemic, develop a coping mindset that will allow you to learn and grow – not simply being stuck in your comfort zone.
